Fleuri Slab
Napoleon Gray, aka vein cut is generated by cutting vertically across the stone’s natural layers. Napoleon Gray can be recognized by its distinctive grey veining, classified as stylotite seismogram type. Stylolites in limestone are conduits for flow, not barriers for flow, giving way to the stone’s seismograph appearance.
Fleuri is generated by cutting the stone horizontally revealing the product’s secrets of pre-historic sea creatures, placed under pressure for millions of years. The Fleuri cut can be recognized by its presence of fossils, it is not uncommon to find whole brachiopods, shark’s teeth or even starfish preserved within the stone.
